Recently, People.cn reported on CECEP Solar’s innovative practice in agricultural irrigation in Ghana—the photovoltaic irrigation system project. Through its “PV power supply + intelligent water control” model, the project achieves zero-carbon irrigation, cutting 1.6 tons of carbon emissions per mu annually and generating over one million USD in additional income for local farmers. It has also been included in Ghana’s Sustainable Agriculture Demonstration Program.

At the 2nd Belt and Road Conference on Science and Technology Exchange, during the Forum on Science and Technology Leading Carbon Peak and Carbon Neutrality, the project was selected for the Belt and Road Carbon Neutrality Technology Innovation Model Cases and received an Excellence Award. Its “technology export + localized training” approach not only addresses the dual challenge of energy shortages and agricultural irrigation in Africa, but also fosters a synergistic model of “l(fā)ow-carbon agriculture + livelihood improvement”, creating a closed loop of economic cooperation and ecological innovation in sub-Saharan Africa.?
