The 2020 Workshop on Realization of the Value of Ecological Products took place at CECEP headquarters in Beijing on December 13. During the event, representatives from 30-plus organizations including the National Development and Reform Commission, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) of the State Council, the Lishui Municipal Development and Reform Commission, the Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences under Chinese Academy of Sciences, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) exchanged views on such topics as ecological product value accounting, ecological industry development, and local practice experience in the realization of the value of ecological products. Attendees also witnessed the inauguration of CECEP Ecological Product Development and Research Center.

Chairman Song Xin noted that CECEP has been remaining true to its mission of “fostering bluer skies, greener mountains, clearer waters and better lives.” The establishment of the CECEP Ecological Product Development and Research Center is intended to implement the “Guidance on Supporting the Role of China Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Group as a Main Platform for Pollution Control in the Yangtze River Economic Belt” promulgated by the Leading Group for Promoting the Development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, testifying to the commitment of CECEP to perform social responsibility as a central enterprise. Song declared that CECEP will take advantage of its own strengths to find comprehensive solutions to environmental and resource-related problems with innovative business practices and explore new models, new business forms and new paths for sustainable realization of the value of ecological products, so as to provide more high-quality ecological products for society and promote the development of green economy.
