Recently, Xi’an Qiyuan Mechanical and Electrical Equipment Co., Ltd. (SDRI) smoothly handed over a transformer core cutting machine valued at 20 million yuan (US$2.9 million) to an Indian subsidiary of Russia-based NLMK Group. The successful acceptance of the project further improved the brand image of SDRI and solidified its position as a national industry leader and a forerunner among manufacturers of electrical equipment across the world.

Founded in 1927, NLMK Group is a leading international manufacturer of high-quality steel products. With a decent market share of silicon steel cores of transformers, it enjoys a sterling reputation around the world. After beating European rivals including German company GEORG and Italian company LAE in an international bid, SDRI acquired this project, which marked a significant victory and brought a strategic opportunity for its international market expansion.
